They gave a very special taste to me: Modest figures struggling for life and getting deeper and deeper into catastrophes. I loved the topics and the places: Far East, South American jungles, colonialism, the power of nature menacing all human efforts.....

Born in Liège in 1903 he traveled much, lived in Paris, in the USA, in Switzerland, where he built a large house in Epalinges near Lausanne. He died there 1989.
